Art in Resistance

Three cultural institutions of Jenin, a tall city with a bad reputation in the north of the occupied Westbank, are fighting for freedom and justice – each on its own way. They call it „art in resistance“, a cultural intifada. There is the famous „Freedom Theatre“ who works in the refugee camp and goes on tour world wide. The actors and directors call themselves freedom fighter. And there is the well known „Cinema Jenin“ with its struggle against the moral guardians of town, and, last but not least, the music school „Al Kamandjati“ which was burnt down several times.
